A few days ago, Tuniu and China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation jointly launched the Children Companion Project, which was established by Tuniu, and decided to allocate 1 million RMB of funds from the Children's special fund established by Tuniu and China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation for the project implementation.
As one of the leading online leisure travel companies in China, Tuniu gave a lot of concern about the left behind children. The launch of the project, in partnership with China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation, will enable people to give a new perspective to solve the problem. The project hopes to provide a healthier, warmer, and more comfortable place for left behind children to grow up.
Explore the new pattern of left behind children protection and to carry out pilot program work among 20 villages in Yunnan Province
In order to support the project, a mode of “one person, one home and one bond” will be used to carry out tasks such as recruitment of “caretakers for children” and guardianship network establishment to provide service for all the left behind children. Meanwhile, explore the rural left-behind children welfare network and pay attention to the issues of companionship, safety, psychology and development.
“Tuniu will allocate 1 million RMB for the allowance of recruiting “caretakers for children”, the equipment, activities, research, training and guidance. The pilot program work will be carried out in 20 villages in Yunnan province to meet the demands of welfare.” The chiefs from Tuniu said that joining in the children companionship project will make it more efficient to help protect the left behind children and provide support for the health, education, protection and development issue. Tuniu will keep following the left behind children and uphold the value of social responsibility.
Special fund “Tuanyuanxing” for the left behind children
Early in December, 2015, Tuniu officially signed the contract with China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation and establish the Special fund “Tuanyuanxing”. Tuniu, together with China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation, plan to allocate 3 million in special funds in three years to meet the demands of the education and companionship issue of left behind children.
After the establishment of the Special fund “Tuanyuanxing”, Tuniu and China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation searched for many ways to take care about left behind children. On Feb. 26th, 2016, Tuniu organized the 6 day “Quantum of the Seas” cruise trip from Busan to Nagasaki for the left behind children and parents and experts from China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation and Chinese Public Welfare Research Institute.
In the beginning of September, the self-driving route of “Tuanyuanxing, a beautiful country tour of the public welfare” was released in Xueshan village, Baoshan County, Ya’an city, Sichuan Province. Tuniu and China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation hope to help more impoverished villages with tourism resources to improve the supporting facilities and increase the income. To explore the new mode of “Internet+Tourism+ Poverty alleviation”, they’ve decided to make more people know about this village. At the same time, make the migrant workers realize that the new changes can bring income and stay with their children and work in local village,
In January of 2017, Tuniu released the video though their official website, Weibo and Weichat and promoted the travel products at the same time. Through these products, people can not only experience the eco-tourism trip, but also help the local residences to increase the income.
