HNA and Tianjin Sign Cooperation Agreements to Build the "Aviation + Tourism" Model of Development

To deepen and implement the strategic cooperation between Tianjin and HNA, yesterday afternoon (April 24th), Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone Administrative Committee, Tianjin Jincheng Capital Company etc., and the subsidiaries of HNA signed a series of cooperation agreements, and they will deepen their cooperation in air transport, e-commerce industry, infrastructure building, financial innovation, etc.

According to the agreements, Tianjin Airlines, a subsidiary of HNA, will gradually further strengthen its work in Tianjin’s air transport, and fully push forward the “Aviation +” strategy, in order to build the multi-format compound and industrial development models, such as “Aviation + Tourism”, “Aviation + Internet”, “Aviation + Finance” and so on. By increasing the number of international flights, the company will stimulate the development of inbound tourism and business travel, help take shape Tianjin’s “Air, Land, and Sea” three-dimensional transportation network, and boost the construction of Tianjin’s international aviation hub, international tourist destination, and distribution center.

HNA will fully utilize its superior resources in the modern logistics industry, and construct the transit center, cold chain logistics center, commodity trade center, cross-border trade center, international settlement center, and aviation and financial service center, based on the port function and comprehensive advantages of the Tianjin Aviation Logistics Zone; introduce cargo aircraft, attract large international freight forwarding agents, logistics, express delivery, warehousing, and other aviation logistics industrial projects to settle in Tianjin, and jointly push forward regional function development and investment promotion. Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone Administrative Committee will apply multiple ways to support the services of Tianjin Airlines in Tianjin: flight expansion, base construction, aircraft procurement, financing, etc.

HNA Tech will join hands with Tianjin to build the “Consumption Technology Industrial Center” and push forward the development of Tianjin e-commerce industry. By combining HNA’s computer, communication, consumer electronic product resources, and storage resources, and taking advantage of the big data analysis platform and the further learning ability of artificial intelligence, the company will help improve the operational capacity and efficiency of the e-commerce platform, and provide technological resource support for Tianjin to develop its new economy.

HNA Infrastructure will resort to the methods of equity transfer, and capital increase and share expansion, to participate in the mixed reform of Tianjin state-owned companies. By utilizing its Chinese domestic and international experiences in construction engineering, airport engineering, port waterways, municipal engineering and other infrastructural experiences, and its highly efficient modern enterprise management and concept, the company will further enhance capital allocation and operational efficiency of state-owned companies, and stimulate business vitality.
