The Waze traffic and navigation app is testing a peer-to-peer car-pooling program in Tel Aviv.

Google-owned Waze will run a “limited trial” program for Android users through Waze’s new RideWith app during “standard rush hour times,” Waze said in a blog post. Once a potential passenger requests a ride, RideWith calculates a fee based on the distance of the planned route, and the driver can either accept or reject the ride. Payments are handled through the RideWith app.

Waze appears to be entering the ride-sharing sector, which includes Uber, Gett and Lyft.

Gett was founded in Israel in 2010 and operates in 50 cities worldwide, including Tel Aviv. Uber began operating in Tel Aviv last summer.

Google acquired Waze in 2013 for a price that wasn’t disclosed, though was reported at about $1.1 billion.
