2016 is already promising to be another active year for Seoul’s business events sector, with a packed calendar of international gatherings across multiple industries. Three major events are expected to bring over 10,000 international delegates to the city.

ASME Turbo Expo 2016

The ASME Turbo Expo is the leading international gathering for experts in the field of turbomachinery, an area of mechanical engineering related to the science of energy production through turbines and compressors. Scheduled for June 13-17, the five-day event is set to take place at Coex with 3,000 participants. On the program are “Women in Turbomachinery”, awards for top industry performers, and a “Student Poster Session”.

IADR/APR General Session & Exhibition 2016

From June 22-25, a total of 6,000 worldwide dental professionals (4,500 attending from overseas) will meet in Seoul to discuss the latest developments in the field of oral health. The 2016 International Association of Dental Research (IADR) general session and exhibition will include the presentation of over 1,500 scientific abstracts and more than 40 exhibitors showcasing the latest findings in the field. The event is set to take place at Coex.

26th Scientific Meeting of the International Society of Hypertension (ISH)

Coming to Seoul in early autumn, the ISH 2016 will be the latest event for the Society, uniting 5,000 cardiovascular professionals from 80 countries worldwide. Scheduled for September 24-29 at Coex, the meeting will offer delegates various city tours, which will take them to attractions such as Gyeongbokgung Palace, N Seoul Tower, the Insa-dong arts neighborhood, Cheongwadae (the Blue House), and more.

Located in southern Seoul, Coex is Seoul’s largest convention and exhibition center, hosting a yearly average of 200 exhibitions and more than 2,000 separate meetings and events.
