Earlier this week, Disney CEO Robert Iger announced that Shanghai Disney Resort has hosted almost a million visitors during its first month of operation.

According to FoxNews.com, Iger made the announcement Monday at the Fortune Brainstorm Tech conference in Aspen, Colorado, saying that guests are staying longer than expected each day. The park officially opened to the public on June 16.

“It would be safe to assume almost a million people have experienced the park,” Iger said during the conference.

While serving almost a million visitors is great news for Disney, ticket prices for Shanghai Disneyland are still less expensive than the company’s other parks in the United States. For example, prices for Disney’s first theme park in China are $76 for peak-period entrance and $56 for off-peak tickets.

Part of Disney’s focus in the design of Shanghai Disney was to incorporate traditional Chinese symbols and elements to help make the park relatable for locals visiting the facility. In addition, the food Shanghai Disney is offering has surprised Iger.

Not only is the theme park selling an abundance of Chinese barbecued pork with rice and cheeseburgers, but there is also a stunning demand for turkey legs. Iger initially thought selling giant turkey legs at the Chinese theme park was a mistake, but he reported Disney is selling 3,000 a day for $8 apiece.
