It’s not the first time that Singapore’s street food has placed the country in the company of culinary giants, since several well-respected local hawker establishments such as Chan Hon Meng’s Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice & Noodle became among the first street food stalls to garner Michelin-star status.

Come October 5-8, chefs from various local Michelin-starred establishments will be representing Singapore to cook in Macau at the inaugural Michelin guide Hong Kong Macau Street Food Festival.

The lineup includes hawker turned Michelin-acclaimed chef, Chan Hon Meng, who will be cooking alongside fellow Singaporean Wayne Liew from Keng Eng Kee, a popular street food stall known for its fusion of Hainanese cuisine with Malaysian-style Zi Char home-style food.

Other presenting chefs from local establishments include chef Malcolm Lee from Candlenut, Chef Han Liguang from Labyrinth and Chef Manjunath Mural from Song of India.

The four-day gourmet event, set to debut in Macau’s Studio City entertainment resort, will feature Bib Gourmand and Michelin-recommended eateries across Asia serving their street food creations and signature delicacies, starting from just MOP40 (US$4.96).

Admission to the festival is free, with the festival taking place from 12 noon to 8pm daily.

Attendees can savour a selection of food that includes Singapore's famed hawker stalls, Shanghainese dim sum, Japanese little eats and Macau's very own classic Chinese favourites.

The inaugural Michelin guide Street Food Festival in Macau is organised by Michelin guide Hong Kong Macau and Robert Parker Wine Advocate, and supported by Melco Resorts and Entertainment.
