Tbilisi Municipality City Hall continuously supports tourism and its related sectors and therefore, stimulates domestic tourism of the city. In this regards, a new project – Tbilisi Food Week was launched to assist private gastronomy sector and help them to attract more domestic visitors.

Within the work of the project, from September 22 to October 7, various culinary events were held, the main purpose of which was to involve Georgian youth in culinary activities and to introduce diverse gastronomic opportunities Tbilisi offers. The project incorporated a range of activities, including culinary masterclasses, seminars, workshops and wine tastings. The guests got acquainted features of Tbilisi cuisine, stories of rare dishes, Georgian culinary cooking classes, peculiarities of Georgian wine and dishes, etc. It is noteworthy to mention that the masterclasses were provided by the famous Georgian Chefs, restaurateurs and sommeliers.
Along with Food Week, street food festival “Taste Tbilisi” was held in the city. The festival allowed the numerous gastronomy tourism representatives/chefs/food outlets to introduce their culinary masterpieces to Georgians, as well as international visitors of Tbilisi. Within the work of the project, various industry startups, food manufacturers and young chefs had an opportunity to raise awareness and to offer diverse Georgian, as well as international street food masterpieces to every visitor of the event.
