China’s tourism leaders and media representatives came together to discuss improving communication and cooperation among media members at the 2014 World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF) Media Subcommittee Conference. The conference was held in Beijing on June 18, 2014 and hosted by WTCF. |
2014 WTCF Media Subcommittee Conference is held in Beijing on June 18, 2014, and it accepts 13 new media members.
Guests participating in the conference included Qu Yingpu, deputy editor-in-chief and chairman of the WTCF media subcommittee; Li Baochun, WTCF deputy secretary general; and Yan Han, WTCF deputy secretary general. Also in attendance were media representatives from more than 20 media outlets including China Central Television, China Daily, and Hong Kong Wen Wei Po.
Qu Yingpu, on behalf of the media subcommittee welcomed guests and noted the WTCF is only just starting to develop as an international organization to help expand global tourism. The media subcommittee, an important organ of the WTCF, has greatly expanded since its establishment.
Qu said both city and non-city members support the organization’s development, a backing that reveals the federation’s great potential during a time when city tourism is rapidly growing.
Li Baochun, deputy secretary general of the World Tourism Cities Federation, reported on the federation’s progress. Li gave an update on plans for the Beijing Fragrant Hills Tourism slated for this September. He hoped media members could take part in the event and contribute their creative ideas during the fall forum.
The WTCF subcommittee also accepted 13 new media members QQ.com, ifeng.com, China Radio International, CRIOnline, Wings of China, China Tourism News, China Railway Literature&Art, The Travel Channel, china.org.cn, ctcnn.com, NetEase, Lonely Planet Traveller, and MairDumount.
Qu Yingpu presented the media membership certificates to new members during the conference. He said the media subcommittee would continue to host forums and tourism-related activities to foster more ideas for development and create more communicating opportunities for WTCF.
