On April 1st, the training program went from the classroom to outdoor. The trainees came to the Badaling Great Wall and the Palace Museum, two famous scenery spots in Beijing, to learn about the management experience and service of Chinese tourism institutions.
It is spring in Beijing, with flowers everywhere. The time the trainees climbed up the Great Wall, they were astonished by this majestic building. Most of the trainees visited the wall for the first time and they were very excited. They said it was great, fantastic and unbelievable in different languages.
The trainee Lizanne Margaret Moncherry from Victory of Seychelles found there was no garbage on the wall although the place was crowded with visitors. She asked how that was done in astonishment. She said Vitoria was a harbor and there was nearly not any sand of storm, but it took them great efforts to keep the scenery spots clean. She hoped the management department could tell her how they kept the Great Wall so clean.
(Office manager of the Palace Museum introduced about the history, architectural feature, collection and future development of the museum.)
In the afternoon, the trainees came to the Palace Museum. Trainees from Edinburgh, Sevilla and Athens visited, took pictures and kept records. They were very interested in the stories the tour guide told about the museum and they asked questions about the details and the history figures now and then. After the field trip, all the trainees came to Jingsheng Den of Jianfugong Garden. Zhu Hongwen, office manager of the Palace Museum, introduced about the history, architectural feature, collection and future development of the museum. The trainees conducted more professional and more targeted communication and discussion with the experts.
After a day of study, the trainees said, as participants of tourism industry, they learnt much through the field trip and classroom training. They learnt much about Beijing’s advance experience on tourism development and management. They were aware of the demands and concerns of China’s outbound tourists. They understood the method and opportunity to promote in the Chinese market. The trainees said they would share and discuss what they had learnt in the training program with the workmates when they returned home. They said WTCF had put much attention on the program and the curriculum was scientific. They looked forward to another chance to attend the training organized by WTCF.
