on November 18-19, Summit Forum of China Travel Retail (CTR) was held in Shanghai. World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF) made a keynote speech at the forum and systematically expounded WTCF’s core concept and major work.
CTR is a business exchange platform specially provided for active buyers and sellers in the Chinese tourism distribution channel. CTR’s members mainly cover travel retail industries such as airport, aviation, ferry cruises and duty-free shops. In 2012, the first CTR was held in Shanghai and so far CTR has been held four times. CTR assembles many buyers and top international brands in the travel retail industry. Meanwhile, most of its guests and participants come from abroad, making it a strategic highland of world high-end travel retail.
The 2015 Summit Forum and exhibition of CTR was hosted by China Tourism Academy (CTA) and jointly planned by Jelladin company, Shanghai and INK media company, UK. Attendees of CTR 2015 included a great many of top airlines, airports, media groups, operators of duty-free goods, E-commerce companies, travel agencies, high-speed rail, cruises, ferries and marketing companies of duty-free goods in FTA & comprehensive bonded zones at home and abroad. Representatives from tourism bureaus, organizations, associations and outstanding entrepreneurs around China, industry elites, senior experts and duty-free goods operating business leaders also took part. The attendees delivered speeches and held discussions on topics affecting the long-term development of China travel retail and exchanged views on most concerned hot issues within the industry.
As one of the major guests of this year’s CTR, WTCF participated in all activities. On behalf of WTCF, Zhang Nan, WTCF Director-General of Comprehensive Business Department, delivered a keynote speech entitled “Better City Life Through Tourism”. By mainly introducing cooperation cases and presenting related WTCF research data, Zhang Nan expounded the Federation’s core concept, major work and development vision, and introduced the unique advantages and functions WTCF has in assisting travel retail industry in upgrading into Era 4.0.

During CTR 2015, Jessica, CEO of CTR Committee, had an in-depth discussion with WTCF Secretariat about future cooperation. Moreover, participants including INK media group from UK, L.E.K. Consulting, Global Blue and TripVivid expressed their wish to further cooperate with WTCF.
