These statues designed by local artists mirror auspicious clouds, peonies, plum blossom, spring festival couplets, blue and white porcelains, and Chinese cuisine. The statues are made of foamed plastics, wrapped by fiberglass and spread with resin to block out the UV rays and are water proof.

At the media preview held on February 1, there were a variety of ox statues, including one with the theme of "Diversity" that displayed multi-language spring festival couplets to extend Chinese New Year greetings to people, which showed that in addition to Chinese, many other Asian countries also celebrate Chinese New Year.

The ox statue sponsored by Salesforce, a technology company, commemorates the past in a modern way, with the color of blue and yellow. Embellished with colorful auspicious clouds and multiple electronic screens to showcase ancient inventions from China, it shows the moment when modern technologies are combined with ancient civilization, and each matrix is also connected with three lines to represent Wireless Fidelity (WiFi).
