Colorful Chinese New Year in Washington

Due to the pandemic, a series of celebrations for the Lunar New Year in 2021 will be held online. The National Museum of Asian Art is holding a series of events over the weekend, all focused on Lunar New Year traditions and Asian Art from Feb 10-13. The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in DC is hosting a virtual reception and symphony concert performed by the internationally-acclaimed Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, along with world-renowned violinist Mr. Ning Feng and noted artists from the U.S. on Feb 11.

On Feb 13, the Smithsonian American Art Museum is co-hosting a "Lunar New Year Family Zone" with the Chinese embassy here in DC. The virtual event will feature lots of arts and crafts activities for families to do together at home or through zoom, as well as live crafts, acrobatic and yo-yo performances.
