Cyprus and Jordan announced they will market themselves as a "twin-centre tourism proposition" at an event in London.

The two countries invited agents and operators to the event at City Hall on 7 November to showcase the "complementary nature" of the destinations.

They aim to target visitors from mid to long-haul destinations whose holidays range from 10 days to two weeks and promote four or five-day stays in each country.

Jordan's tourism minister Nayef Al Fayez said by packaging trips to the two countries, travellers can "gain more value" from their holiday.

"Jordan's new national tourism strategy launched at the beginning of the year aiming to expand the demographic of tourists planning their travel to Jordan," he said.

"We have introduced a series of new low-cost flights from across the UK and Europe which we hope will continue to drive the bounce back we have already seen this year.

"Together the two countries have a beautiful range of landscapes, history and unique cultural experiences to offer.

"Travellers today want to make the most of their trip and by packaging these two charming countries together, holidaymakers can gain more value from their time away."

Savvas Peridos, deputy minister of tourism for Cyprus, said: "We first began speaking about this joint proposition back in 2019 and we feel that this is the right moment to rekindle the opportunity.

"Cyprus and Jordan complement each other well and we feel that the potential is great. We are ready to assist each other and become pioneers of innovative collaboration in the world of travel."
