First Thai carnival theme park to open next year

Carnival Magic, Thailand's first carnival theme park, will be open at Phuket, Thailand in next March.

A press conference held on Friday in Phuket revealed many details about the new park. Carnival Magic is a new theme park project from Phuket FantaSea, located next to Phuket FantaSea, on Kamala Beach. The entire project covers over 40 acres and was built at a cost of over 160 million U.S. dollars.

During the press conference, Kittikorn Kewkacha, president and CEO of Phuket FantaSea Public Company Limited, said that as the world's first Thai Carnival theme park, Carnival Magic was inspired by fun and colorful parades, carnivals and temple fairs all around Thailand and features many fun, interesting and hi-tech attractions that can not be found anywhere else in the world.

"Chinese tourists are the main source of tourists in Phuket. With more and more Chinese tending to travel independently instead of tour group, we want to create something delightful, something that the world has never seen before to attract individual tourism," Pin Kewkacha, chairman to the Executive Board of Phuket FantaSea Public Company Limited said.
