Luxury travel retailer DFS group recently opened it’s first store located in Kampuchea - T Galleria by DFS in Angkor. The shop located in tourist attraction Siem Reap, adjacent to Angkor Wat, has become the largest luxury duty-free boutiques in Kampuchea, designed to provide retail, hotel and leisure services for travelers in one all-dimensional shopping experience. T Galleria by DFS in Angkor covers an area of 86,000 square feet, from now until June, the shops will gradually open, and there will be a total of 170 brands in it. The categories cover fashion and accessories, watches and jewelry, wine, beauty makeup and perfume and a series of local handicrafts.
"For the DFS group, consumers’ desire for exploration and adventure continues to motivate our inspiration. We are very honored to meet consumers in the historical and cultural city of Siem Reap and add more fantastic elements to their journey ," DFS Group Chairman and CEO Philippe Schaus said, "T Galleria by DFS in Angkor is located in the centre of Siem Reap, with all kinds of luxury brands gathered here, consumers can enjoy international brands shopping experience, and add bright colors for the trip to Kampuchea."
Located in the wooded park, adjacent to the Angkor National Museum possessing many historical relics, T Galleria by DFS in Angkor interprets the charm of the local culture and heritage with elegant and modern design. The DFS group has closely cooperated with Kampuchea craftsmen, blending traditional Khmer patterns and carving into the design concept of the shops. Elaborately carved stone pillars originate from the temple and the palace near Angkor Wat, and the wall and floor tiles with interwoven patterns are taken from the local architectural style; design inspiration of an artistic installation about 60 feet high hanging in the shop’s vaulted atrium is from the Buddhist monk robes’ warm, saturated colors. On the official opening day, there were more than 200 local Siem Reap shopping guides greeting the consumers with the famous Kampuchea warm greetings.
