The World Tourism Cities Investment & Financing Conference Held Successfully

The World Tourism Cities Investment & Financing Conference was held.

On September 7, during the World Tourism Cities Federation Fragrant Hill Tourism Summit, the World Tourism Cities Investment & Financing Conference was held. The theme of this year’s conference is “New Trend of the World Tourism Investment”. Li Weiqun, Chairman of WTCF Investment Committee; Qian Jiannong Global Partner of Fosun International, Chairman and CEO of Fosun Tourism Group; and Dr. Song Rui, Director of the Tourism Research Center of CASS and WTCF Specially Appointed Expert delivered keynote speeches respectively at the conference. The forum guests expressed their views focusing on the “The change of tourism investment method”, “The need & trend of tourism investment in your city”, and “The support of foreigh investment on city side”.

The conference is a high-ranking, practical event. The panel discussion was hosted by Zhang Hui, President of Palm Investment Limited. Tourism experts, representatives of financial corporate, and leading tourism enterprises delivered keynote speeches during the panel discussion. They also discussed several forward-looking issues in the industry, such as “tourism investment method”, “investment target selection”, and “investment supporting policy making”. The discussion gives intellectual and theoretical support for the development of the tourism industry. During the session of B2B Activities, nearly 100 Chinese and foreign guests, project parties and enterprises have conducted free negotiations, and they have reached many investment intentions on the site.

With the improvement of people’s consumption level, Tourism has become one of the most promising industries for many investors and investment corporates. This year, WTCF has launched the Integrated Service Platform of Global Tourism Investment and put it into use. This is the new measure that WTCF has taken to serve its members. Before the summit, WTCF had already received more than 160 projects in total that its members submitted. At this Investment & Financing Conference, 23 projects signed their contracts on site, including Qingdao Expo and Surrounding Area Upgrade & Ice and Snow World Project, China Confucian Businessman Industrial Park project, and Huaxia Datong Beautiful Industry Government Investment Guiding Fund project and so on. The project contract amount reached 22 billion U.S. dollars.

At the World Tourism Cities Federation Chongqing Fragrant Hill Tourism Summit 2016, the sixth sub-committee of WTCF---Committee of Investment was founded, and the Tourism Investment Fair was held. At the past two Tourism Investment Fairs of the Fragrant Hills Summits, the total intended investment capital reached 107.13 billion yuan, approximately equal to 16 billion U.S. dollars.
