The 7th Annual Meeting of China’s Tourism Industry

The 7th Annual Meeting of China’s Tourism Industry was held in Sanya from Dec.26th -27th, 2019.

Centering around the theme of “Innovation Driven by Integration Upgrades Communication to the Next Level”, using Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as guidance, the 7th Annual Meeting of China’s Tourism Industry took a closer look at the central issues of China’s culture and tourism industry, outlined the annual industrial developments and looked into future trends. With the subject matter of “professionalism and pragmaticism”, it aimed to facilitate the innovation brought by the integration of culture and tourism, as well as boost substantial growth in the tourism sector.

As a special guest of this year’s annual meeting, Li Baochun, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of WTCF attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech with the theme “Global Trend of Tourism Economics 2020”. Combining research results generated by WTCF, it gave a projection of the global trend of tourism economics in 2020, based on data from 2019. From an international perspective, Li Baochun expressed constructive views on the future development of the Sanya tourism industry, with the ultimate aim of promoting Sanya globally.

After the opening ceremony, ,Li Baochun, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of WTCF accepted press interviews from China Tourism News, Hainan Broadcasting Group, Sanya TV and SSTV, giving an in-depth analysis about the current domestic and foreign climate of the tourism industry.

The annual meeting this year was co-hosted by China Tourism News and the People’s Government of Sanya City. Approximately 300 participants attended this meeting, including relevant senior leaders of culture and tourism departments, the mayor and deputy mayor of Sanya, representatives of the tourism industry, representatives of well-known scholars, representatives of media etc. Since 2012, the Annual Meeting of China’s Tourism Industry has convened in numerous locations such as Guangzhou, Chengdu, Nanchang, Harbin, and Beijing.
