Peony Festival of Beijing Botanical Garden

Now is the best time to appreciate nearly 6,000 peonies from over 500 strains in the garden. The garden displays peonies introduced from Central China, Northwest China, South China, Southwest China, Europe and Japan. These peonies are red, white, blue, green, yellow, pink, purple, black and multi-colored, thus including all colors of peony.

During the festival, tourists can not only appreciate peonies but also learn popular science about peony. Newly-set display boards present features of peonies from various regions as well as differences between peony and shao yao.

From April 27 to May 1, tourists have opportunities to appreciate peonies introduced from Europe and Japan.
