Michael Woodhouse, Minister of New Zealand Immigration Service, said in a statement on April 19, New Zealand will launch a package of convenient policies that simplify apply and approval procedures of Chinese tourists’ visas.
These convenient policies include the e-visa system designed for Chinese tourists, Chinese registration and login system on New Zealand’s government service website RealMe, etc. Besides, by the end of 2016, Chinese tourists can use debit cards and credit cards marked with China Unionpay when paying through the online visa apply system.
According to Mr. Woodhouse, China is New Zealand’s second largest tourist market that develops at the fastest pace. In 2015, about 355,000 Chinese nationals visited New Zealand and contributed 1.6 billion New Zealand Dollar (7.26 billion Yuan) to the country’s economy. The New Zealand Government hopes to facilitate Chinese tourists’ trip and let them have a good impression on the country.
Besides, New Zealand has extended the valid time of Chinese tourists’ multiple entry tourist visas from one year to two years and opened multiple entry business visas that are good for three years.
