Japan Airlines is using newly acquired daytime slots at Tokyo's Haneda Airport to expand to 34 total international routes from the airport and build on relationships with partner carriers.

Beginning March 29, JAL will start new services from Haneda to Chicago, Fort Worth and Los Angeles as well as a second daily flight to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport. That will coincide with JAL partner American Airlines' new service to Haneda from Dallas and expanded service from Los Angeles. JAL also will increase service between Chicago and Tokyo's Narita Airport in February 2021.

Outside of the U.S., JAL's service expansion from Haneda will include a new route to Helsinki, with partner Finnair planning to establish the route on a complementary schedule, according to JAL. Similarly, JAL aims to build on its partnership with Aeroflot Russian Airlines with new service between Haneda and Moscow.

Additional service from Haneda includes new routes to Sydney, New Delhi and Dalian, China, and expanded service to Shanghai. JAL also is adding two daily flights between Haneda and Honolulu, alongside its two daily flights between Narita and Honolulu.

Most of the new Haneda flights are replacing current JAL flights from Narita. JAL earlier this month announced expanded service from Narita including San Francisco; Guam; Bengaluru, India; and Vladivostok, Russia.
