【Introduction】:I think WTCF events, especially the annual Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit, have large scale, high profile and substantive content. Forum topics are also forward-looking. Participants at all levels can benefit a lot from the summit.
Tourism is an industry with a prominent driving role. Tourist consumption in tourism destinations may generate revenue for tourism and other related enterprises and stimulate development of other industries through revenue flow in the destination’s economy, especially the service industry. Thus, tourism plays a unique role in driving the destination economy’s development.
From the perspective of our company having developed inbound tourism for many years, tourism’s positive impact on the destination economy is also reflected in the earning and return of foreign exchange. At this point, inbound international tourists are in fact a source of "export trade", and this has drawn attention of the country. Tourism can also effectively promote market development and drive the development of all industries and sectors of national economy. Tourism is a service industry, whose development will certainly promote employment in an effective way so as to stimulate local consumption and economic development indirectly.
Tourism in the era of "global village"
One of tourism’s special functions is bringing together people of different cultural backgrounds and values even if it is by chance, thereby providing opportunities and an environment for cross-cultural exchange and communication. In international exchanges, tourism differs from official and business cooperation exchanges. In the current era of "global village", tourism activities are the largest non-governmental diplomatic activities, playing an irreplaceable role in promoting people-to-people exchanges among different countries and regions. This naturally enhances mutual understanding and friendship among people in different countries and regions and of all nationalities. It eliminates misunderstanding and suspicion caused by isolation, strengthens unity, and promotes national stability and world peace. As a result, tour guides are referred to as "civilian diplomats".
Future tourism development by CYTS
With rapid development of global tourism, people have begun to pay more attention to the tourism function of cities.
"Sharing" will be a distinctive trend of future urban tourism. This includes a wide range of sharing activities, such as bikes, home stays and other new means of travel emerging in the tide of the sharing economy. Mainly for a city, how to build good “Sharing” relationships and interactive relationships between residents and tourists with limited tourism resources is also a big concern.
In my opinion, as a tourism enterprise facing the ever-changing market, firstly, CYTS should delve into market trends and find the right development direction instead of acting blindly. We mapped out three "tourism +" strategies: "tourism + education", "tourism + sports" and "tourism + health" in 2017. Secondly, CYTS should leverage the advantages of its parent company, China Everbright Group, to intensify integrated development in diverse fields including finance and investment, and enhance strength through innovation. Thirdly, as a tourism enterprise, CYTS is service-oriented and focuses on quality. We will continue to improve our high-standard service to promote the CYTS brand, honor contracts with consumers and customers, and persistently attempt to become one of the world’s top tourism integrated service providers.
WTCF provides good platform for members
We have actively participated in World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF) events as a member. I also attended the Beijing Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit 2014. Due to its high degree of internationalization, strong professionalism and effectiveness, the "WTCF Exploration: Expo & Marketplace" planned and operated by us, earned unanimous praise from WTCF and participants from home and abroad. I think WTCF events, especially the annual Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit, have large scale, high profile and substantive content. Forum topics are also forward-looking. Participants at all levels can benefit a lot from the summit.
