Sanya Named Model City in Standardization of Nationwide Tourism

Sanya has been listed among the third group of model cities to be announced nationwide for the promotion of standardization in the tourism industry, according to an official document released by the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) on December 27th, 2016.

According to the report, 19 cities (counties) and 30 tourism-related enterprises across the country were listed among the third group of the model cities/counties (units) for the national-level standardization tourism project.

Among the names on the list, Sanya’s Tianya Haijiao Scenic Spot and Grand Metropark Resort Sanya were named as model units for tourism standardization, proving that the tourism quality and services of these locations have gained widespread recognition.

Sanya was included on a list of pilot cities by the China National Tourism Administration for the tourism standardization promotion project in November 2014. Since then, the local government has focused its efforts on carrying out a series of measures to establish a comprehensive standardization system to create a healthy and orderly tourism environment and make the city a more attractive international tourist destination.
