The Sanya Tourism Resources Promotional Conference and Industry Exchange Meeting of Asian Countries was held at the InterContinental Sanya Resort on September 6th, 2017. The meeting was hosted by the Sanya Tourism Development Commission (STDC).
The conference was part of Sanya’s “Invite In and Go Out” marketing strategy in key tourism markets and cities that have direct flights to Sanya. It aims to boost overseas tourist arrivals from within Sanya’s 4-hour air tourism circle.
Over 40 travel operators, media members, and online celebrities from countries and regions along the “One Belt, One Road” region including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, were invited to attend the event. They carried out in-depth discussions with representatives from 30 tourism-related enterprises in Sanya, on topics including the establishment of the Sanya Inbound Tourism Marketing Alliance, and the advantages and disadvantages of Sanya developing into an international tourist destination. The two sides reached agreements on intended cooperative efforts that will aim to develop featured tourism products during the 67th Miss World Final this year.
During their four-day stay in Sanya, overseas travel operators visited luxury hotels in Sanya Bay, Dadonghai, Yalong Bay, and Haitang Bay to learn more about the international services that Sanya has to offer. They also visited the Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone, Binglanggu Valley, Sanya Romance Park, and Zhongliao Village.
The Sanya Tourism Resources Promotional Conference and Industry Exchange Meeting of Asian Countries was the first event of STDC’s “Invite In” marketing promotional campaign this year. In the following months, more events will be organized targeting Japan, South Korea, Europe, and Russian-speaking countries.
