Sanya Airport Int'l Terminal Adds 8 New Airport Aprons to Handle Peak Season Traffic

On November 9th, construction was completed on eight new airport aprons at the International Terminal of the Sanya Phoenix International Airport, and the aprons passed final acceptance checks.

The eight new airport aprons include seven aprons for Class C aircraft (landing airspeeds are in the 120-to-140 knot range according to Civil Aviation Administration of China) and one apron for Class D aircraft (landing airspeeds are in the 141-to-160 knot range).

The project also included a new boarding bridge and supporting facilities.

The eight new airport aprons will further enhance the apron capacity of the Sanya Phoenix International Airport, as well as the airport’s comprehensive support capability to meet increasing airport traffic demands during peak seasons.

Sanya airport’s international terminal now serves 25 international and regional air routes connecting to 12 countries and regions. The air routes include flights to Sanya’s major tourist source countries and regions, such as Russia, Kazakhstan, India, South Korea, Southeast Asia regions, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
