Air China Will Make the Maiden Flight of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner in May

Starting from May, 2016, Air China will bring in seven Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner is the newest and most efficient airplane developed by Boeing. The Dreamliner has the ability to provide a smooth, quiet, and environmentally friendly point-to-point and non-stop flights, thus, relieving passengers of complications during long-distance trips. The brand new 787-9 features a reduced the interior cabin altitude from 8,000 ft. to 6,000 ft. The reduction difference of 2000 ft. can relieve passengers’ fatigue and provide more comfortable flying experience.

The design for every airplane requires a high degree of attention to detail. As one of the most advanced commercial airplanes, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner has been well received by passengers, flight attendants, and pilots.

Passengers agree that the user-friendly design, larger cabin windows, quieter cabin, dynamic LED lighting, ample storage space, luxurious washroom, and perfect layout of the passenger cabin make flights more comfortable. The cabin windows of 787-9 Dreamliner are 30% larger than any other civilian aircraft. This allows passengers to enjoy the landscape outside the window even if they aren’t sitting beside the windows. Compared with other passenger airplanes of the same size, it can reduce 60% of the noise. When it takes off, the noise is lower than 85 decibels, similar to the noise of urban traffic. In the passenger cabin, all-day natural light can be simulated to adjust to the passengers’ biological clocks.

Air China plans to equip the 787-9 with the brand-new eX3 entertainment system, developed by Panasonic. The wireless internet access, power socket and USB ports provide passengers with an office like environment. For the business class, recreation equipment developed by Panasonic is also provided. In the cabin, there is adequate space for luggage. Passengers can easily place and retrieve their luggage from the luggage compartments. The washroom features inductive taps, foldable stools for clothes changing, and flush buttons for close stools. The customized 787-9 Dreamliner can provide more space and seats for passengers compared with other common airplanes.

Flight attendants claim that more comfortable resting area makes them more energetic and the advanced touch-screen service system enables them to better serve the passengers.

From a professional viewpoint, pilots think that the composite materials, used in airframe components of the 787-9, make the airplane less likely to suffer damage from fatigue and corrosion, and the airplane becomes lighter. As there are fewer parts, less maintenance will be needed. An advanced cockpit, broad display and increase use of electric framework can reduce fuel consumption and cost of maintenance. Higher bypass can greatly lower the noise of engine.

The Boeing B787-9 Dreamliner, introduced by Air China, will make its maiden flight of CA1339 from Beijing to Guangzhou on May 24th. In June, it will begin service flying from Beijing to Shanghai and Guangzhou. In July and September, it will be entered into service of Sanya-Beijing-Frankfurt and Beijing-Rome.
