From now on, customers may get exclusive U Plan coupons via the mobile app of CEB credit cards. Shopping at merchants outside mainland China, customers are able to enjoy the highest discount available by presenting the coupon and paying with UnionPay cards. U Plan is the world’s first open cross-border marketing service platform launched by a bankcard organization. Adopting mobile Internet technology, it offers locating service, accurate marketing service and instant discounts for cross-border consumption. Since its launch this July, more than 300 well-known merchants in Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand as well as many cross-border financial, tourism and retail service providers have joined U Plan, to jointly build a cross-border consumption ecosystem based on mobile Internet.
This time, CEB’s participation in U Plan offers another channel of getting U Plan coupons. From now on, the mobile app for CEB credit cards will set a special section for U Plan. Customers may select merchants and get exclusive QR code coupons in this section. When shopping at stores, customers are able to enjoy the highest discount available by presenting the QR code and paying with UnionPay cards.
Customers may get U Plan coupons from the mobile apps of UnionPay International, Bank of China, CMBC and dianping.com too. They may also receive the coupons at their travel destinations when using the apps of CYTS, Ctrip, Spring Airlines and Qunar to book airline tickets and hotels.
Cai Jianbo said, with the development of mobile Internet, payment in the future will be based not on cards but scenes, and will be more intelligent. U Plan is a successful attempt at marketing, service and mechanism innovation. Through mobile apps, we and issuers, acquirers, tourism organizations and merchants jointly improve cardholders’ cross-border purchasing experience. By the end of this year, more renowned merchants in Japan, South Korea and the US will join U Plan, and we welcome more. All participants will benefit from this new business model and jointly, we will develop and prosper together.
Dai Bing said that the credit card always develops with the advance of technology, from offline to online and then to mobile Internet. In the future, credit cards will go on developing only when it stays at the forefront of science and technology, and pay attention to innovation. CEB will continue to issue various types of UnionPay credit cards, and carry out in-depth collaboration with UnionPay in fields of mobile financial card development, mobile payment terminals customization and mobile payment ecosystem construction.
At present, U Plan merchants outside mainland China include Sasa, Prince Jewelry & Watch, LUKFOOK JEWELLERY and Yisha Boutique in Hong Kong, KingPower DUTY FREE and Paragon, Emporium and EmQuartier of The Mall Group in Thailand, Aotea Gifts, a specialty store in New Zealand, all the duty-free stores of JR in Australia and New Zealand, as well as all the stores of Michael Kors, Victoria Secrets, kate spade new york, TUMI and Bath&Body Works subordinate to Valiram Group in Singapore.
