【Introduction】:Just recently, Paris Ile-de-France officially joined the World Tourism Cities Federation (hereinafter referred to as the WTCF), thus becoming its 69th city member and 108th member overall.

Just recently, Paris Ile-de-France officially joined the World Tourism Cities Federation (hereinafter referred to as the WTCF), thus becoming its 69th city member and 108th member overall.

On October 23, along with his delegation, Mr. Li Baochun, Deputy Secretary-General of the WTCF, met with the representatives of the Tourism Committee of Paris Ile-de-France. The secretariat of the WTCF introduced the positioning, organizational structure and international resources of the WTCF to Gabriel Massou, the senate and Vice President of the Tourism Committee of Ile-de-France, Richard Temal , Vice Chairman of the Board of the Tourism Committee of Ile-de-France and others, recalled the development of the WTCF since its establishment, and specially emphasized the vision and goals based on the mutually beneficial cooperation platform set up between the cities.

Representing the Tourism Committee of Ile-de-France, Mr. Gabriel Massou expressed his warm welcome and sincere gratitude for the visit of the secretariat of the WTCF. In over one year, the Tourism Committee of Ile-de-France has been paying attention to the development of the WTCF, and has conducted in-depth communications and interactions with the secretariat of the WTCF many times, and was delighted to have witnessed the great achievements and strong development potential since its establishment. Representing Ile-de-France, Mr. Gabriel Massou officially signed the document to join the WTCF, hoping to carry out all types of cooperation with the WTCF to boost mutually beneficial development.

Located in the northern part of France, Ile-de-France serves as a political, economic and cultural center, and it consists of its capital city Paris and its seven provinces: Val de Marne, Seine Saint-Denis, Hauts-de-Seine, Yvelines, Val d'Oise, Seine-et-Marne, and Essonne. Ile-de-France is a famous tourist resort, where each year its accommodation of overseas tourists reaches 86,000,000. Therefore, France has become a nation which accommodates the most domestic and international tourists.

From October 17 to 22 in 2013, members of the delegation appeared as observers at the 15th UCSEEC Meeting held in Athens, Greece, and held promotional activities to all the capital cities at the meeting. Members of the delegation also visited Riga, Latvia, and discussed and implemented the bilateral cooperation memorandum, strengthening communication and cooperation and other affairs with Riga’s Foreign Affairs Office, Tourism Bureau and other departments.
