2024 Tourism Plus Shanghai Concludes with Record Attendance

The five-day 2024 Tourism Plus Shanghai event drew to a close on March 30, attracting a record-breaking 420,256 attendees overall including over 15,761 international visitors — an increase of 80.1 percent from the previous year.

This year's event featured major cluster exhibitions focusing on hospitality, business spaces, yacht shows, and the catering industry across two venues — the Shanghai New International Expo Center and the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) — in Pudong and Puxi, two sections of the city across the Huangpu River.

Covering 12 industry categories, 38 exhibition sections, and spanning a total space of 600,000 square meters, the expo provided a platform for over 5,000 exhibitors from more than 30 countries.

Four professional investment and trade matchmaking sessions were held, with projects submitted by proponents totaling 25.72 billion yuan ($3.56 billion), further invigorating investment initiatives.

Highlighted events included the four lifestyle culture festivals themed on coffee, wine and chocolate, waterfront, and lure fishing. Eighteen professional skill competitions also took place, featuring over 800 contestants and nearly 200 judges. Additionally, the newly introduced cultural tourism sales areas brought visitors a view of immersive consumption experiences.

During the expo, 134 segment-specific professional forums were held, with nearly 1,000 speakers sharing insights into industry trends. Concurrently, over 200 on-site activities were held, including product launches, investment promotions, and live-streamed events.

According to the organizers, the 2025 Tourism Plus Shanghai will further expand its format to three exhibition centers across Pudong and Puxi, with a total exhibition area of 700,000 square meters, to realize industry integration.
