Changsha

Changsha is located in Central China, and stands at the lower reaches of the Xiangjiang River and the western edge of the Changsha-Liuyang Basin. The city, seated in the north of the eastern part of Hunan, covers a total area of 11,819 square kilometers and has a population of about 10.21 million. It is the capital of Hunan Province, an important node city of the Belt and Road Initiative, and an important central city at the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. It is also one of the first batch of famous national historical and cultural cities, one of the first Chinese cities joining in Lancang-Mekong Tourist Cities Cooperation Alliance, one of the first batch of national cultural and tourism consumption demonstration cities, one of the first batch of national public cultural service system demonstration zones, and one of the first batch of national cultural export bases. Changsha has been recognized as UNESCO's Media Arts City and a Cultural City of East Asia. It has also been awarded as a National Culturally Advanced City for three consecutive years, and has been rated as one of China's Happiest Cities for 14 consecutive years. With its name and location remaining unchanged for 3,000 years, Changsha is known as the "Hometown of Patriots Qu Yuan and Jia Yi", a "Famous City of the Chu Kingdom and Han Dynasty" and a "Revolutionary Holy Land". Integrated with mountains, rivers, and islands, Changsha has nurtured well-known brands covering TV, publishing, animation, and acting sectors. The city has been recognized as a Chinese City with the Best International Image, one of the Most Influential Tourism Cities in China and China's Famous High-speed Rail Tourism Cities, and has become an Internet-famous city.
