In partnership with Cyberview and Mastercard Mobike has this week entered it’s second city in malaysia - Cyberjaya.
Supported by the local authority, Sepang Municipal Council. President of the council YBhg Dato Puasa bin Md Taib, attended the launch event held at the smart-city’s Dash Box hotel on Tuesday October 4th 2017.
Who’s involved
In each new Mobike city, mobike prioritise public and private partnerships that will enable the best possible service for local residents through demonstrating sustainable, smart and responsible operations.
As such mobike has partnered with Cyberview Sdn Bhd, the technology hub enabler responsible for the tech progressions and smart-city capabilities of Cyberjaya, Malaysia.
As a leader in global payments technology, Mastercard will be supporting the launch by integrating their simple and safe ‘Masterpass’ payments technology with the mobile application.
Perry Ong, Country Manager, Malaysia and Brunei, Mastercard said:
“With over half of Malaysians making payments using mobile phones, as revealed by Mastercard Mobile Shopping Survey 2017, it is an exciting time to tap into the potential of mobile payments. This tripartite collaboration with Mobike and Cyberview further underscores our commitment to making cities more connected, efficient and inclusive.
What will it cost
Cyberjaya’s Mobikers will be able to enjoy a hefty promotion in the first month that sees the refundable deposit dropped to just 9 Malaysian Ringgit and to top it off an entire month of free rides!
In November the service will return to standard rates with the deposit kept low at 99 Malaysian Ringgit and 1.5 MR for 30 minutes of riding.
Why Cyberjaya
Sanjey Chandran, Country Manager of Mobike Malaysia, said:
“Our smart bike-share service has been designed to improve the liveability of local communities in Malaysia by providing an outstanding bike-share experience to our users and the municipality itself. Cyberjaya is recognised as a model for the development of smart cities in Malaysia, and we are pleased to be working with local businesses to advance the township’s transformation into a Global Tech Hub. In addition, our partnership with Mastercard and Cyberview complements Malaysia’s five-year development plan, a key focus of which is building sustainable cities.”
