Parque das Aves (which literally means "Park of the Birds"), located in the Atlantic Forest, covers an area of 16 hectares and is one of the largest bird-watching parks in South America. The park is home to some 130 species of birds, more than 1,000 in total. Its establishment has provided a sanctuary for many of these endangered species. The macaws are the stars here, with some of which have wings covered with feathers in red, yellow, green, green and blue, resembling rainbows in the sky. Most of the time the macaws stand on the staggered branches of the trees or by the nests, acting indifferently towards the visitors and, as a result, providing perfect opportunities for photographers who are eager to record.

Perhaps the park is the only place where you can get up close with a toucan. Each toucan has a scythe-like orange beak with a large black spot at the tip, which are striking and beautiful at the same time. They are even bolder than the macaws in the park, often standing on the wooden railings and managing to "reach" the visitors with their huge beaks. If you are lucky enough, you can also see one of the staff members feeding these intriguing creatures with nuts.

In addition to the birds mentioned above, you can also see flamingos cooling off in the artificial pond. If you get tired of walking, you can also stop at the SABORES DA FLORESTA restaurant in the park and finish off your bird-watching trip with fresh salads, pasta and other delicacies.
