Zagorje is located in the northwestern part of Croatia and stretches from the top of Ivančica in the north, Medvednica in the southeast and the Slovenian border in the west. Apart from the iconic nature that is dotted with hills and often vineyards, Zagorje is rich in history, culture and art.
The Krapina Neanderthal Museum testifies to the early history of this area, interpreting the phenomenon of human origin in an interactive way. It is located not far from the world famous site Hušnjakovo.
