Disneyland Paris chiefs have revealed upcoming park Disney Adventure World, featuring World of Frozen, will open on March 29, 2026.
A total of €2 billion has been invested in transforming the existing second park, Walt Disney Studios Park, into an expanded space that will be nearly double the size of the existing offering.
The opening date of the new park was revealed in a ceremony attended by Travel Weekly at Disneyland Paris on Monday evening (November 24).
President Natacha Rafalski said: “March 29 will mark a historic milestone for Disneyland Paris with the transformation of our second park into Disney Adventure World and the opening of its spectacular new expansion, featuring World of Frozen.”
In addition to World of Frozen, the new park will feature a further two “immersive lands” – Worlds of Pixar and Marvel Avengers Campus. A fourth world, inspired by The Lion King, will open later.
Rafalski said the changes represent “the most ambitious transformation in our resort’s history” and “push the boundaries of storytelling”.
World of Frozen will invite guests to step into Arendelle, the kingdom that stars in the film franchise, with features including the 36-metre North Mountain crowned by Elsa’s Ice Palace.
The Frozen Ever After attraction will take guests on a boat ride alongside Anna, Elsa and their friends.
There will also be opportunities for personal interactions with the characters, including a true-to-size Olaf created through “next-generation robotic figures”.
A 15-minute show, A Celebration in Arendelle, will take place several times a day and focus on the Snowflower Festival.
Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, the Oscar-winning writers of Let It Go, have composed new music for the production, which unfolds in Arendelle Bay.
Dining in Arendelle will be available in quick-service restaurant Nordic Crowns Tavern, while souvenirs will be on offer from Arendelle Boutique.
Michel den Dulk, vice-president and portfolio executive creative director at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, said: “World of Frozen is more than just inspired by the film; it truly brings the kingdom of Arendelle to life.
“Working together across disciplines, our imagineers combined creativity and attention to detail to craft a world that captures the spirit of the story and feels real and immersive.
“We’re very proud to see the castle, the village and the North Mountain become reality, and we can’t wait for our guests to step into this world and be part of the story.”
Other features of Disney Adventure World will include a teacup-style attraction inspired bythe film Tangled, loosely based on the fairytale Rapunzel, as well as the Regal View Restaurant & Lounge, where guests will be able to dine in the company of Disney princesses.
The transformation of the second park involves an overhaul of more than 90% of its features since opening in 2002.
Disneyland Paris, which opened in April 1992, has grown to become “Europe’s number one tourist destination”, with over 375 million visits since its launch.
