【Introduction】:Milan Bergamo Airport launches its 2024/25 winter season, introducing new routes and increased flights across Europe and Africa, enhancing connectivity and providing over seven million available seats.
The 2024/25 winter season officially opened at Milan Bergamo Airport on 27 October, running through March 29, 2025. This season promises exciting new routes and enhanced connectivity. With over seven million seats available on more than 37,000 scheduled flights, passengers can expect expanded options, seamless connections, and increased frequencies, providing greater travel flexibility for winter travel.
Milan Bergamo Airport is strengthening its international reach with new routes to diverse destinations across Africa and Europe.
Neos will launch a weekly service to Dakar in Senegal from 28 November, marking an important step in expanding the airport’s connectivity with Africa. This new route offers passengers a direct gateway to West Africa, enhancing both cultural and business links between Italy and the region. Eastern Lombardy, particularly around Bergamo, is home to Italy’s largest Senegalese community and a thriving diaspora from other West African countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, and Ivory Coast. This diverse population has significantly enriched the area, underscoring the importance of this nonstop service.
Starting 29 November, Romania’s Bees Airlines will launch flights between Milan Bergamo and Suceava, offering a three weekly service that caters to business and leisure travellers, as well as those visiting friends and family. Adding to this connectivity, HiSky will introduce two-weekly flights from Milan Bergamo to Oradea beginning 15 December, further strengthening Bergamo’s network to Romania. With these new routes, Milan Bergamo Airport will reinforce its position as Italy’s leading airport for seats and destinations to Romania, now offering connections to eight Romanian cities. This enhanced connectivity is especially significant for the large Romanian community in eastern Lombardy, which also includes a substantial population from the western part of Ukraine, making Milan Bergamo an important hub for both communities.
On 15 December, Air Arabia Maroc will launch a new two-weekly service connecting Milan Bergamo with Fes, bringing the vibrant culture of Morocco even closer to Italian travellers and catering to the rising interest in North African destinations. This new route will complement Ryanair’s existing service on the same airports-pair, offering passengers more flexibility and options.
Just in time for the holidays, Norwegian will launch a weekly service to Harstad/Narvik in northern Norway on 23 December. This new route offers a unique winter travel experience, inviting passengers to witness the Northern Lights and explore Norway’s stunning landscapes. Harstad/Narvik Airport also serves as a gateway to the breathtaking Lofoten Islands, making it an ideal destination for those seeking both natural wonders and adventure.
In addition to these new routes, Milan Bergamo Airport is pleased to announce an increase in frequencies across several popular destinations. Aeroitalia, Neos, and Pegasus Airlines are among the carriers boosting their operations this season, providing greater convenience for passengers departing from Milan Bergamo. Travellers are now able to fly up to three times per day every weekday with Aeroitalia to the nation’s capital of Rome, in addition to two flights on Sundays, while Pegasus Airlines now provides two daily rotations to Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokcen Airport.
Giacomo Cattaneo, Director of Commercial Aviation, SACBO, said: “As Milan Bergamo Airport continues to grow, we are delighted to introduce new routes and enhance frequencies that provide passengers with more choices than ever before. These new connections represent our commitment to expanding our reach and offering unique travel experiences. Whether our passengers are seeking business connections, cultural exchanges, or unforgettable holiday destinations, Milan Bergamo Airport is dedicated to making their journeys as smooth and flexible as possible.”
The addition of new routes and increased frequencies not only enhances Milan Bergamo’s destination portfolio but also reflects the airport’s commitment to offering unparalleled connectivity for its passengers. In addition, this winter, Bergamolynk, the innovative virtual interlining tool, provides travellers with the opportunity to book separate tickets and transfer via Milan Bergamo Airport to more than 140 destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and beyond, offering a host of exclusive services to ensure a hassle-free transit experience.
