Quito Set to Participate in the International Tourism Trade Fair - FITUR 2025

The capital of Ecuador is ready to participate for the tenth time at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR), one of the most important events in the global tourism industry, to be held from 22 to 26 January in Madrid, Spain.

The most beautiful city in the world will be a co-exhibitor on the Ecuador stand, where the Quito Tourism Board will strengthen the destination’s presence in the European market, to create new business opportunities for the city’s tourism sector.

FITUR was inaugurated in 1981 with the aim of bringing together the tourism industry in an ideal space for the exchange of ideas, knowledge and business. In 2024, the fair welcomed 250,000 attendees. This year the organisers expect to welcome more than 9,000 exhibiting companies, 153,000 professionals, 97,000 members of the general public and 152 countries.

The Spanish market is a key part of Quito’s promotional strategy due to the interest generated by travellers visiting the city. More than 47,000 Spanish visitors arrived in Ecuador in 2024, placing Spain among Ecuador’s top five tourism source markets.

During the four days of the fair, Quito will promote its offerings in nature tourism, ecotourism, adventure, culture, gastronomy, wellness, shopping, business, as well as scientific and academic tourism. The Visit Quito digital platform, which offers detailed information about the city, activities and tourist services, will also be presented.

In addition, Quito Turismo will hold food tastings so that visitors can discover the culinary richness of the Metropolitan District of Quito, one of the city’s most important attractions. At the same time, it aims to strengthen public and commercial relations, positioning the city as a high-quality, exclusive destination with a diverse array of attractions.
