Portugal has relaxed its travel rules to allow non-vaccinated travellers to visit without the need to quarantine on arrival.

Not yet fully vaccinated but still looking to travel? Portugal is welcoming you – quarantine-free!

The popular holiday hotspot has relaxed their rules allowing non-vaccinated visitors from the UK to enjoy a stress-free holiday without the need to quarantine providing they can show a negative PCR or Rapid Antigen Test on arrival.

Up until now visitors from the UK had to show proof they had been fully vaccinated with an EU-approved vaccine or they would have to quarantine for 14 days.

Earlier this week, the UK government's Covid travel list came into force with new green, amber and red lists. You can read about this in more detail here.

Travellers to the Azores or Madeira must show either a negative PCR test or a vaccine certificate to avoid the 14-day quarantine, although they can have a free test on arrival if they agree to go into "prophylactic isolation" – a 12 to 24-hour waiting period for the test result.
