The 4th Forum on China-Africa Local Government Cooperation, Beijing Sub-forum and 2021 WTCF Africa Regional Conference Held in Beijing

【Introduction】:From 18 October to 19 October, Beijing witnessed the 4th Forum on China-Africa Local Government Cooperation, Beijing Sub-forum and 2021 WTCF Africa Regional Conference. The event was hosted by the General Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality together with WTCF. Themed on "The Normal of Pandemic Control and Economic Recovery", it was composed of two sections, namely "Pandemic Control and Socioeconomic Development" and "Resilient Recovery of Tourism under COVID-19".

From 18 October to 19 October, Beijing witnessed the 4th Forum on China-Africa Local Government Cooperation, Beijing Sub-forum and 2021 WTCF Africa Regional Conference. The event was hosted by the General Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality together with WTCF. Themed on "The Normal of Pandemic Control and Economic Recovery", it was composed of two sections, namely "Pandemic Control and Socioeconomic Development" and "Resilient Recovery of Tourism under COVID-19".

On 19 October, the tourism section event: 2021 WTCF Africa Regional Conference was held successfully online. Themed on "Resilient Tourism Recovery under COVID-19", it attracted more than 80 representatives from China and 11 African countries, including Cameroon, Morocco, Nigeria, and Tunisia, as well as Chinese industry scholars and tourism enterprise representatives. They met each other online and shared their insight into various topics.

At the event, WTCF released Agenda for the Future Development of World Tourism Cities (2021-2030), elaborating on the context, historic opportunities, core concepts, guiding principles, goals, action plan and implementation assessment for the future development of world tourism cities. This has provided a more transparent, multi-faceted and workable joint program of action and development blueprint for the recovery and development of world tourism cities.

WTCF has, centered on "New Trends in China's Outbound Tourism Market", launched themed training, in order to interpret the future development trends of China's outbound tourism market. Responsible persons of China Tourism Group, Caissa Touristic, and Sina Weibo Tourism shared a number of cases themed on "The Impact of New Changes in China's Tourism Market after COVID-19 on the Middle Eastern and African Markets", "Breakthroughs, Innovation and Cooperation of China-Africa Tourism Market in the Post-Pandemic Era", and "China's Social Media Empowering Tourism Recovery".

Present at the online sofa forum were representatives from Nigeria, Seychelles, South Africa, Tunisia, Kenya, and other countries. They had in-depth discussion and exchanges, striving to build a platform of China-Africa cultural tourism cooperation, leverage the potential and opportunities for cooperation among China-Africa cities, gather wisdom and consensus for a higher level of resilient, mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation.

The event was intended to help more learn about the recovery and development of international tourism in the post-pandemic era, enhance communication and mutual learning among China-Africa cities under the new normal of pandemic control, help African cities promote economic rebound, resilient development, improve people's livelihoods, as well as contribute to the revitalization and recovery of world tourism cities after the pandemic.
