WTCF Invited to Attend the Online Meeting of the Turkmen Ministry of Culture

On 19 May (Beijing Time), at the invitation of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in China, Li Baochun, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF), attended the online meeting of "ASHGABAT - THE CITY OF TOURISM" co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, various provinces and regions of Turkmenistan and Ashgabat City. Present at the meeting were Atageldy Shamuradov, Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan, Gandym Rakhymov, Mayor of Ashgabat, provincial and regional heads of Turkmenistan, and representatives of Turkmen tourism enterprises.

Li Baochun gave a brief introduction of WTCF, and analyzed the world tourism economy trends in 2022, the current new development patterns of the tourism industry, and other topics. He noted that WTCF welcomes the joining of tourism cities of Turkmenistan and looks forward to further cooperation and exchanges with Ashgabat and other well-known tourism destinations, tourism enterprises and related institutions in Turkmenistan, in order to jointly promote the recovery and development of the world tourism economy.

Atageldy Shamuradov introduced the cultural and tourism industry resources of Turkmenistan and expressed his satisfaction and gratitude for the long-term cooperation with WTCF. He stressed that many cities in Turkmenistan now want to become members of WTCF and will continue to strengthen cooperation with WTCF. At the meeting, provincial and regional heads of Turkmenistan gave detailed introductions of the areas under their jurisdiction and vigorously promoted local tourism resources.

At the end of the meeting, all of the participants expressed their gratitude for the current fruitful cooperation and hope for the future of bilateral cooperation. It is believed that with the promotion of WTCF and other parties, and the concerted efforts of the cities, Turkmenistan will surely usher in a new era of tourism development.
