Representatives of hub.brussels Pay Visit to WTCF's Secretariat for Further Cooperation

On the afternoon of July 11, 2023, Mattias Debroyer, Trade & Investment Commissioner of hub.brussels, and Han Dandan, Investment and Tourism Officer for hub.brussels, paid a visit to the Secretariat of the World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF), and had conversations with Yan Han, Deputy Secretary-General of WTCF and other personnel. Both sides exchanged views on platforms deepening cooperation via the platform.

Yan and Debroyer introduced their recent work and reviewed the friendly exchanges over the years between WTCF and Brussels, a founding member of this organization. Yan invited the representatives of the Brussels Capital Region to attend serial activities during the China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) to be held in Beijing this September, including the 2023 World Conference on Tourism Cooperation and Development, 2023 Forum on World Famous Cultural Tourism Cities, 2023 Beijing Culture Forum and China Intangible Cultural Heritage Week in Beijing. Yan believes that the 30th anniversary of the founding of the friendly relationship between Beijing and Brussels in 2024 can offer good opportunities for the two cities to advance project cooperation and enhance people-to-people exchanges.

As a guest attendant of the WTCF Fragrant Hills Tourism Summits in 2014 and 2016, Debroyer highly acknowledged WTCF's core development principles and was impressed by its work outcomes. He looked forward to closer connections and exchanges to contribute to the recovery of cultural tourism industries in cities worldwide. In addition, Debroyer wishes that the Secretariat of WTCF could help invite prominent experts in the relevant fields to attend the "Women Business Starters and Entrepreneurs Reception" co-organized by hub.brussels and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in China.

Yan said the Secretariat of WTCF will carry forward the philosophy of serving members and enabling development, strengthen interaction with the Brussels Capital Region, and effectively ensure relevant matters are in place for more profound outcomes at a higher level.
