The World Conference on Tourism Cooperation and Development 2024, hosted by the World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF), was successfully concluded at the China National Convention Center in Beijing on September 12. As one of the 13 thematic forums held during the 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), this conference under the theme of "Boosting Cross-Border Tourism for Enhancing Mutual Learning among Civilizations" attracted more than 400 representatives of the global tourism industry from 45 countries and regions, to talk freely about the sustainable development of the global tourism industry and envision boosting world tourism and promoting mutual learning among civilizations through collaboration among tourism cities.
To strengthen international exchanges and cooperation on cultural and natural heritage, and fully showcase Beijing's achievements in terms of the integration and innovative development of cultural and tourism sectors, on the morning of September 12, 31 prominent international guests attending the World Conference on Tourism Cooperation and Development 2024, including delegations headed by Tunisian Minister of Tourism and Handicraft, the Governor of Asti Province and Mayor of Asti City of Italy, and the Mayor of Marbella of Spain visited Beijing Intangible Cultural Heritage Center, accompanied by the staff of the World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF).
To fully present the history of WTCF, the Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit and other brand events, as well as achievements, WTCF set up booths inside the No. 4 Blast Furnace at Shougang Park to launch an exhibition themed "Tourism Boosts Civilization Mutual Learning Among Cities".
The World Conference on Tourism Cooperation and Development 2024, hosted by the World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF), commenced at the China National Convention Center in Beijing on September 12.
As a sub-event of this year's China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), themed "Boosting Cross-Border Tourism for Enhancing Mutual Learning among Civilizations", the Conference aims to inspire thoughts on tourism cooperation and mutual learning among civilizations among the stakeholders and practitioners of the global tourism industry, and inject new vitality into the future growth of global tourism industry.
At one of the conference's section, the Special Forum of China Inbound Tourism, guests will share their advice and views regarding the growth of the tourism industries worldwide under the theme of "Inbound Tourism Promotes the Development of Urban Tourism".
The annual World Tourism Cities Development Report will be released during the conference. As an important academic publication for promoting the cooperation and exchange among the world's tourism cities, the report maintains its focus on 100 sample cities around the world.
During the conference, mayors and deputy mayors from six famous travel cities will meet together to converse over the new paths for inter-city cooperatoin and growth of the global tourism industry.
The following guests from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, the People's Government of Beijing Municipality and UN Tourism will deliver speeches at the opening ceremony.
The Conference will feature a range of sections, including the opening address, a section for releasing research results, signing ceremonies, a special forum on the inbound sector of China, a thematic forum, an inbound tourism trade fair, and a specialized training course featuring inbound tourism organized by WTCF.
