New Carnival Cruise Line flagship Carnival Celebration has made its debut in the Caribbean.

The ship arrived in Grand Turk on its first call to a Caribbean port on an inaugural six-day Thanksgiving cruise from Miami.

The 6,000-passenger vessel has entered service followed a trade preview in Southampton prior to repositioning to its Florida base.

Carnival Celebration visits Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic for Thanksgiving Day today (Thursday), Nassau in the Bahamas on Friday before spending Saturday at sea and returning to Miami on Sunday.

The ship's second cruise from Miami starts alternating week-long eastern and western Caribbean sailings. 

Eastern Caribbean itineraries include stops in destinations, including Grand Turk, San Juan, St Thomas, St Maarten, Amber Cove and Nassau. 

Western Caribbean cruises visit Cozumel, Costa Maya and Mahogany Bay in Roatan, Honduras.

Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy said: "It is an honour to bring our new flagship to Grand Turk as its first Caribbean port of call and welcome our guests to experience the beauty of the island.
