Hanzhou: New Experiences in City of Asian Games

As the host city of the 19th Asian Games, Hangzhou's sports tourism has always been at the forefront of China. Launched in 1987, the Hangzhou Marathon is one of the oldest races in China, second only to the Beijing Marathon. Hangzhou Qiandaohu Lake Scenic Area was nominated as a national sports tourism demonstration base in December 2022.

In recent years, Qiandaohu Lake has vigorously cultivated new sports tourism formats such as mountain sports, water sports, adventure sports, and aviation sports, and continuously enriched sports and leisure functions. At present, there are two sports tourism scenic spots, four sports training bases, 40 sports clubs and three sports demonstration bases in Qiandaohu Lake. There are 83 sports and leisure activities such as cycling, mountain adventure, power paragliding, hot air ballooning, go-karting, etc.

In addition, Daming Mountain Wansongling Ski Resort, located in Qingliangfeng Town, Lin'an District, was once one of the 14 sports tourism boutique routes for the 2022 Spring Festival holiday in China, and greatly promoted ice and snow sports in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai.

Located in Hecun Township, Tonglu County, Shengxian Lipiao Snow Adventure Town has the theme of "sports and leisure", with Zhuxi Adventure Park, paragliding, extreme sports park and other projects.
