WTCF Committee Meeting of Cruise Industry of 2025 WTCF Hong Kong Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit Successfully Held, Exploring New Industry Future Together

On April 15, the WTCF Committee Meeting of Cruise Industry was successfully held at Kerry Hotel in China's Hong Kong Special Administration. Hosted by the Committee of Cruise Industry, the meeting attracted numerous industry elites to gather here and focus on new opportunities and challenges in the development of Asian cruise market, offering insights for the industry future.

As the first world-class cruise industry organization in China, the Committee of Cruise Industry of World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF) has been dedicated to promoting the coordinated development of cruise tourism cities, ports, enterprises, and research institutions. By releasing the Qingdao Consensus, the committee is an advocator of building a sustainable cruise industry chain. With practical significance, the meeting focused on exploring regional market potential, facilitating collaborative innovation in the industry chain, and advancing the joint establishment of international standards. 

The meeting was presided over by Xie Xie, Chief Researcher of cruise development at the Waterborne Transportation Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport. Zhang Shuo, Director of WTCF Business Development Department and Secretary-General of WTCF Committee of Tourism-Related Business, and Xu Hongwei, Deputy Secretary-General at the WTCF Committee of Cruise Industry and Deputy Inspector at the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, delivered speeches. Representatives from cruise companies, research institutions, and industry associations shared their insights and experience around the theme of the meeting, including those from Royal Caribbean Cruises, Astro Ocean Cruise, Resorts World Cruises, Shanghai International Cruise Economic Research Center, Qingdao Cruise & Yacht Association, and Korea International Cruise Institute. 

The meeting concluded successfully, providing practitioners in Asian cruise industry with a platform for in-depth exchanges and cooperation. It is believed that members of the committee will work closer together through this event, making solid progress in exploring regional market potential, innovating the industry chain jointly, and establishing international standards with joint efforts, so as to help Asian cruise industry enter a new charter of development.
